“We are Moyee Coffee. We think it’s unfair that 99,9% of all Ethiopian coffee leaves the country as green beans. While the retail price for roasted beans is 6 to 7 times higher. Therefore we are preparing a coffee revolution, to make it possible to invest in coffee roasting equipment in Ethiopia based on what we call the Fair Chain Principles. ”

Fairchain means a fairer distribution of wealth between coffee consuming and coffee producing countries. 

First, Fair Chain aims to give farmers access to the same technologies as western companies and thereby the possibility to create higher added value themselves.
Second, Fair Chain wants to provide direct links between farmers and consumers or the right distribution channels, giving farmers more control throughout the value chain and thus higher margins.

Moyee Coffee has created a joint venture with Ethiopian coffee farmers supported by the local government, university of Jimma and the Coffee Export Association of Ethiopia.
